Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will inaugurate the historic Bam Rukn-ud-Daula Lake on Sunday evening, with officials finalising arrangements ahead of the event.
The Bam Rukn-ud-Daula lake inauguration was scheduled for 7.30 pm on March 8. The Chief Minister will formally open the restored lake after completion of beautification works.
Ahead of the lake inauguration, HYDRA Commissioner A.V. Ranganath inspected the site on Thursday and reviewed preparations for the programme.
Bam Rukn-ud-Daula lake inauguration preparations reviewed
During the visit, officials examined the beautification works carried out around the lake bund and surrounding open spaces. They also inspected medicinal plants planted across the site as part of landscaping efforts.
The commissioner observed newly created recreational spaces. These included play areas for children and resting spots designed for visitors of all age groups.
Officials also reviewed the domed gazebos constructed along the lake bund to allow visitors to relax and enjoy the surroundings.
In addition, they inspected the main entrance designed to reflect the cultural style of the Old City. Display boards explaining the history of the lake were also installed near the site.
The HYDRA team further reviewed arrangements for the public meeting scheduled after the lake inauguration ceremony.
HYDRAA Additional Commissioner R. Sudarshan, Additional Directors Varla Papaiah and Makarandam, and Rajendranagar DCP Srinivas accompanied the commissioner during the inspection.
