Hyderabad: A 40-year-old auto driver from Hyderabad’s Old City is recovering after allegedly trying to take his own life late Tuesday night, police said.
The man, Mohammed Sajid from Falaknuma, was reportedly drunk when he used a paper-cutting knife to slash his throat at home. Neighbours found him bleeding and called for help.
Falaknuma police responded quickly and took him to Osmania General Hospital. Doctors say his condition is still serious, but he’s now out of immediate danger.
The Hyderabad Police have filed a case and are trying to piece together what led to the incident. So far, they’ve found no evidence of foul play. They’re waiting to question Sajid once he’s stable enough to speak.
