Assembly discusses electrical vehicles policy on fifth day

Hyderabad: The fifth day of the Telangana Assembly session began on Tuesday with Question Hour. Members raised issues linked to the electrical vehicles policy, TGSRTC services, and transport infrastructure.

Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar opened the Question Hour. He allowed members to seek replies from the Transport Department. BJP member Katipally Venkataramana Reddy asked how many electric vehicles had been registered in the state so far. He also sought details of steps taken to promote electric mobility.

BJP member Palvai Harish Babu said electric vehicle numbers were rising quickly. However, he pointed out the lack of charging stations. He asked the government to explain how it planned to address the gap.

Electrical vehicles policy and RTC connectivity concerns raised

During the same session, government whip Beerla Ilaiah urged Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar to allot electric buses to the RTC depot near Yadagirigutta. He said the temple area needed better transport due to heavy pilgrim flow.

Congress member Rekulapally Bhoopathi Reddy raised concerns over rural connectivity. He said RTC buses operated only up to link roads. Because of this, villagers living two to three kilometres away faced daily hardship.
