Hyderabad: Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested two civil supplies officials from Asifabad district for taking a bribe of ₹75,000. The officials demanded the amount to allow the transport of PDS rice without conducting a quality check.
ACB identified the accused as Gurubelli Venkat Narsimha Rao, District Manager, and Kothagolla Manikanth, Technical Assistant (Outsourcing) at the Civil Supplies Office. They allegedly asked the complainant for money to move rice lorries from his godown to the Civil Supplies godown in Asifabad.
After receiving the complaint, ACB officers organised a trap. They caught both officials while accepting the bribe. The bureau recorded the evidence and began legal action against them.
