Arts soul of Telangana celebrated at Ramadasu Jayanthi

At the celebrations, the Deputy Chief Minister described Bhadrachala Ramadasu as a great composer and a pride of Telangana soil. He recalled that Gopanna, born in Nelakondapalli, earned lasting recognition as Bhakta Ramadasu through devotion and keertanas.

According to him, the Bhadrachalam temple built by Ramadasu and his compositions still live in the hearts of Telugu people. Moreover, such festivals keep the legacy of regional composers alive.

Bhatti Vikramarka said the people’s government took several steps to restore the past glory of artists. Over the past two years, it organised many cultural programmes through the Sangeet Natak Akademi.

These programmes communicated the State’s development initiatives to the public. As a result, people participated actively and responded with enthusiasm, he noted.

Arts soul of Telangana linked to tourism plan

Emphasising that arts drive social awakening, Bhatti Vikramarka said Telangana has long used art forms to spread awareness in rural areas. In addition, he stressed that arts serve not only entertainment but also public education.

After bifurcation, the government began organising such festivals officially to highlight regional composers, he said.

The Deputy Chief Minister directed the Sangeet Natak Akademi to prepare a special action plan linking tourism and culture. Specifically, he asked it to connect UNESCO-recognised heritage sites such as Ramappa Temple with other ancient temples in the State.

Expressing happiness over the public’s growing interest in cultural events, Bhatti Vikramarka assured full financial support for organising similar programmes in the future.
