Army College of Dental Sciences holds silver jubilee convocation

Hyderabad: The Army College Dental Sciences convocation was held in Secunderabad as the institution celebrated its silver jubilee, marking 25 years of dental education, research and service.

The Army College of Dental Sciences (ACDS) organised the ceremony on Saturday to honour its graduating students.

Established in 2001 under the Army Welfare Education Society and affiliated with Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences, the college recognised students who completed their programmes this year.

During the Army College Dental Sciences convocation, 38 students received Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degrees.

In addition, 18 students graduated with Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) degrees.

Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka attended the Army College Dental Sciences convocation as the chief guest.

Minister D. Sridhar Babu, Christina Z Chongthu, Ramesh Reddy and Rajesh Reddy also attended the ceremony.

They congratulated the graduating students on completing their academic programmes.

The event highlighted the institution’s achievements over the past 25 years.

Army College Dental Sciences honours academic excellence

A major highlight of the Dental Sciences convocation was the presentation of the Shaheed Naik Jadunath Singh, Param Vir Chakra Award.

The award was given to Deekshita Reddy for securing first rank in the BDS programme.

The award commemorates the bravery of Shaheed Naik Jadunath Singh, who received the Param Vir Chakra, India’s highest gallantry honour.

Addressing the gathering, Bhatti Vikramarka congratulated the graduating students and appreciated the institution’s development.

He noted that ACDS had grown significantly in academics, infrastructure and adoption of modern dental technologies.

According to him, the institution had evolved into a centre of excellence while maintaining the discipline and service ethos of the armed forces.

Ajay Mishra, General Officer Commanding of Telangana and Andhra Sub Area, also attended the programme.

The ceremony highlighted the college’s continued commitment to training skilled dental professionals.

It also emphasised the institution’s role in supporting the oral healthcare needs of the armed forces community.
