HYDERABAD: Engineer-in-Chief (ENC) of the Irrigation Department, Anil Kumar, appeared before the Kaleshwaram Commission on Monday following the findings of the expert committee appointed by the National Dam Safety Authority (NDSA).
The summons was issued after the NDSA expert panel submitted its report, which examined various technical and structural concerns related to the Kaleshwaram project. In response, Anil Kumar was asked to provide explanations and submit relevant details regarding the project’s execution and the safety concerns highlighted by the committee.
His appearance marks a significant development in the ongoing inquiry into the project’s engineering standards and safety measures, particularly amid allegations of design deviations and reported damage to critical infrastructure.
The Commission is currently investigating accountability and lapses in the implementation of the project. Anil Kumar’s testimony is expected to play a crucial role in shaping the Commission’s final conclusions and recommendations.
