Anganwadi teacher assaulted by villagers in Sangareddy

Hyderabad: Anganwadi teacher assault was reported from Sangareddy district, where villagers tied a woman to a tree and attacked her over a financial dispute linked to her husband.

The incident occurred in Rasool village of Kangti mandal. Villagers dragged Anganwadi teacher Vasantha Kumari, tied her to a tree, and assaulted her despite her pleas.

They also threatened to cut her hair and parade her on a donkey. The assault continued for over an hour, during which she faced physical abuse, according to reports.

Anganwadi teacher assault linked to insurance money dispute

Villagers accused her husband of collecting insurance money from them and failing to return it. However, they targeted the woman despite her having no direct role in the matter.

Following the incident, the victim approached the police and lodged a complaint. Subsequently, police registered a case against five persons and initiated an investigation.
