Anantapur: A gruesome crime has rocked Anantapur, where Tanmayi, an intermediate second-year student, was found brutally murdered behind Manipal School. According to initial reports, the attackers poured petrol on the young woman before setting her ablaze, leaving her charred remains in the area.
Tanmayi’s family had filed a missing complaint with the local police on Tuesday after she failed to return home, but they now allege that the authorities failed to act promptly. “We reported her disappearance, but no one seemed to take it seriously,” her grieving parents said.
The family’s worst fears were realised when Tanmayi’s burnt body was discovered behind Manipal School, a stark reminder of the dangers faced by young women.
As news of the murder spread, local residents expressed shock and anger over the incident, demanding justice for the victim and accountability from the police. The case has raised serious questions about the effectiveness of law enforcement in responding to missing complaints.
Police officials have yet to release an official statement, and an investigation is reportedly underway to identify the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
