HYDERABAD: A devastating fire accident occurred in Andhra Pradesh’s Anakapalli district on Sunday, resulting in the deaths of six people and serious injuries to six others.
The incident took place at a fireworks manufacturing unit located in Kailasapatnam of Kotavuratla mandal, where an accidental explosion led to a major fire. The powerful blast, triggered by stored firecrackers, claimed six lives on the spot, while six others sustained severe injuries. Locals rushed the injured to the nearest hospital for urgent treatment.
All the victims are reported to be residents of Samarlakota.
State Home Minister Vangalapudi Anita expressed deep shock over the incident. She promptly alerted fire and emergency services to control the flames and announced that she would visit the site. The minister is also expected to meet and console the injured.
Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly Speaker Tammineni Seetharam Ayanna Patrudu extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased. He directed the Narsipatnam RDO to ensure the injured receive the best possible medical care. He further instructed the local medical staff to make arrangements for hospital beds and ventilators as needed.
