AIMIM opposes SETWIN shift from Purani Haveli

Hyderabad: AIMIM opposes the SETWIN shift from Purani Haveli. Accordingly, party president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi urged the State government to withdraw the proposal to relocate the Society for Employment Promotion & Training in Twin Cities institute from its long-standing premises.

In a letter to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, Owaisi said SETWIN had been functioning from Purani Haveli since its inception. Over time, he said, the institute had grown into a crucial platform for skill development. It also played a key role in employment promotion and welfare-linked initiatives.

SETWIN shift raises access concerns

Moreover, Owaisi said the Purani Haveli location had gained permanence in public perception over the years. As a result, beneficiaries viewed it as the most accessible and appropriate site for SETWIN services.

“The location has attained permanence in public perception and continues to serve as the most accessible and appropriate site for intended beneficiaries,” Owaisi stated in the letter.

However, he said the proposed SETWIN shift would reduce accessibility for trainees and job seekers. Additionally, the move would disrupt service delivery. According to him, it would therefore dilute the objectives for which SETWIN was established.

The representation followed recent orders issued by the State government. Under these orders, government offices operating from private buildings must shift to government-owned properties.
