Hyderabad: AIMIM General Secretary and former MLA Syed Ahmed Pasha Quadri passed away on Tuesday. He had been unwell for several days. His death sent waves of grief through political and social circles, especially within the AIMIM cadre.

Ahmed Pasha Quadri was one of the most trusted associates of the late Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi and a long-serving pillar of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM). Known for his loyalty and organisational work, he played a key role in strengthening the party and serving the public.

Four-time MLA, remained loyal till the end

Pasha Quadri won the Charminar Assembly seat in four successive elections – 2004, 2009, 2014 and 2018. His reputation for simplicity, accessibility and genuine concern for public issues made him widely respected in his constituency.

In 2023, the party fielded a new candidate (Jaffer Hussain Meraj) from Yakutpura Assembly segment in his place. Despite this, Pasha Quadri remained loyal to AIMIM and continued serving as its General Secretary until his passing.

His death is being described as a significant loss to Hyderabad’s political landscape, the Muslim community, and AIMIM’s organisational leadership.
