Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday arrested the Town Planning Officer of Adibatla Municipality and his assistant for taking a ₹75,000 bribe in Ranga Reddy district.
Investigators said Bandela Varaprasad, posted as Town Planning Officer (AO-1), demanded the bribe to process a G+4 building permit. He routed the amount through Vadala Vamshi Krishna, an outsourcing assistant (AO-2), who acted on his behalf.
The ACB team caught both men during a trap and recovered the full bribe from Krishna’s possession.
Officials presented the accused before the Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases in Nampally. The investigation is ongoing.
Citizens can report corruption by calling ACB’s toll-free helpline at 1064.
