ACB traps court staff in ₹5,000 bribe case in Bhupalpally

Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) trapped three court staff in a ₹5,000 bribe case at the District Principal and Sessions Court in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district on Thursday.

According to an ACB press note dated 20.02.2026, Accused Officer-1 Sri Palakurthi Sai Charan, Steno Grade-1, was caught by the ACB, Warangal Range, at about 01:08 hours while demanding and accepting a bribe of ₹5,000.

The bribe was allegedly taken through AO-2 Smt. Kommu Sunitha, Subordinate, and AO-3 Smt. Punnam Rajitha, Subordinate. The amount was demanded from a complainant for doing an official favour.

ACB officials said the accused sought the money to hand over a certified copy of the judgment in A.S. No. 03/2023 to the complainant.

ACB recovers tainted money in ₹5,000 bribe case

The tainted bribe amount of ₹5,000 was recovered from the possession of AO-3 at her instance. ACB stated that AO-1, AO-2 and AO-3 performed their duties improperly and dishonestly to obtain undue advantage.

Subsequently, the three accused were arrested and produced before the Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases, Warangal. The case is under investigation.

The ACB withheld details of the complainant for security reasons. It also urged the public to report any demand for a bribe by public servants by calling the toll-free number 1064.

Officials said complaints can also be lodged through WhatsApp at 9440446106 and through the social media platforms of ACB Telangana. They assured that the identity of the victims would be kept confidential.
