Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday conducted simultaneous raids at 18 Road Transport Authority (RTO) offices and border check-posts across Telangana in connection with corruption allegations.
Offices in Hyderabad’s Uppal and Tirumalagiri areas, along with those in Kamareddy, Peddapalli, and other districts, were part of the coordinated crackdown.
According to sources, several officials facing corruption complaints were detained, along with RTA agents allegedly involved in illegal activities.
At the Uppal and Trimulgherry offices, ACB teams sealed the premises during the operation. Ten agents each were detained from both locations. Witnesses said other agents fled the offices as soon as the raids began.
The sudden action disrupted regular public services, leaving citizens who had come for driving licenses, tests, and vehicle registrations stranded.
ACB officials are continuing interrogations and are expected to expand the investigation based on evidence gathered from the detained individuals.
