Hyderabad: The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested two Armed Reserve Sub Inspectors working at the Cyber Crime Police Station under the Rachakonda Police Commissionerate in LB Nagar.
The arrested officers are Pramod Goud and Jatayath Babu Naik.
ACB trap in the cybercrime police station
Officials said the accused officers demanded a bribe of ₹1,00,000 from a complainant.
They allegedly sought the money to perform an official favour. The officers promised to issue a notice under Section 35 BNSS instead of arresting the complainant in a cybercrime case.
The anti-corruption bureau laid a trap and caught the officers while accepting the bribe amount.
Officials recovered the tainted money of ₹1,00,000 from the possession of the accused officer.
Investigators said the officers misused their official position and acted dishonestly to obtain undue advantage.
Authorities produced both officers before the Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases in Nampally for judicial remand.
The investigation in the case is ongoing.
