Aarogyasri dues cleared, Revanth Reddy counters allegations

Hyderabad: Aarogyasri dues cleared worth Rs 2,408 crore, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy told the Assembly, rejecting opposition allegations on pending payments.

Responding to questions raised by T. Harish Rao, he said the government was releasing Aarogyasri bills through the Green Channel system. However, he rejected claims that authorities were not releasing payments as promised.

According to him, opposition parties were making false allegations about Aarogyasri dues cleared and creating unnecessary doubts among the public.

Aarogyasri dues cleared with detailed payment breakup

He said the previous government left dues of around Rs 600 crore under the Aarogyasri scheme. This included Rs 240 crore pending to government-aided hospitals and Rs 360 crore due to private hospitals.

After assuming office, the government spent an average of Rs 89 crore every month. Consequently, Aarogyasri dues cleared reached Rs 2,408 crore.

The government paid Rs 927 crore to government-aided hospitals. It also released Rs 1,480 crore to private hospitals, he added.

He stressed that the government remained committed to clearing all pending dues in a systematic manner. Therefore, officials were processing payments regularly through the Green Channel.

Aarogyasri dues cleared amid CMRF misuse allegations

He said some groups were spreading misinformation that poor patients were suffering under the scheme. He rejected these claims and asserted that no injustice was taking place.

The Chief Minister also alleged misuse of the Chief Minister Relief Fund during the previous regime. He said many were aware of how authorities handled the fund.

He further claimed that personal assistants of certain leaders misused CMRF funds. An inquiry into the matter was currently underway.

He added that authorities would reveal all details soon. He reiterated that Aarogyasri dues cleared remained a priority for the government.
