Passengers escape unhurt as private bus catches fire on Hyderabad–Vijayawada highway

Hyderabad: A major accident was averted when a private travel bus caught fire on the Hyderabad–Vijayawada national highway. All 29 passengers on board escaped without injuries after the driver and staff alerted them in time.

The fire broke out near Pittampalli in Chityala mandal while the bus was travelling from Hyderabad to Kandukur. Smoke suddenly filled the vehicle, and the driver immediately stopped it. The crew warned everyone to get down, and passengers rushed out moments before flames engulfed the bus.

Firefighters control blaze, passengers safe

Firefighters from Chityala reached the spot quickly and put out the flames after a short struggle. The bus burned completely, but no one suffered injuries. Officials confirmed that the passengers were safe.

The alertness of the bus crew saved all passengers from a serious accident. Several travellers thanked the staff for their swift action and calm response.
