Hyderabad: 5-minute grace period exams facility has been allowed for students appearing for Intermediate examinations from February 25 and SSC exams from March 14, the State government announced on Tuesday.
Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao directed District Collectors and Superintendents of Police to ensure strict and malpractice-free conduct of examinations. He instructed officials to make comprehensive arrangements at all centres.
According to official data, 4.89 lakh first-year Intermediate students and 4.53 lakh second-year students will appear for the exams. In addition, 5.28 lakh SSC students will write their examinations across the State.
5-minute grace period exams with strict monitoring
The government decided to permit students to enter examination halls within five minutes of the scheduled start time. However, authorities emphasised that centres must strictly prevent malpractice.
Officials will install CCTV cameras at all examination centres. Police will provide bandobust to maintain order. ANMs and first-aid facilities will remain available, and centres will provide adequate benches and clock rooms.
Moreover, question papers will carry QR codes to enhance security. Authorities will open sealed question paper covers 15 minutes before the commencement of the exam in the presence of designated officials.
Hall tickets will be sent directly to students through WhatsApp. Students can also download their hall tickets from the official website.
The Chief Secretary asked district administrations to coordinate closely with education, police and health departments to ensure smooth conduct of the 5-minute grace period exams across the State.
