Hyderabad: A four-year-old boy died after accidentally falling into a water sump in Miyapur’s Hafeezpet area on July 12, police said.
The victim, Abhi, was playing near his home in Marthanda Nagar colony when he slipped and fell into an uncovered sump. His parents, Srinu and Neela, were away at work when the incident occurred.
Upon learning of their son’s death, the couple returned home and broke down in grief. Family members blamed the house owner for negligence, alleging that the open sump was left unsecured.
Miyapur police visited the scene, registered a case and began an investigation.
Police have urged parents to keep constant watch over young children, especially in homes with open pits, tanks or water storage units.
