Hyderabad: The 359th Prakash Purab celebrations of Sri Guru Gobind Singh concluded on Sunday with deep religious fervour. Thousands of Sikh devotees, along with people from other faiths, gathered in Secunderabad to offer prayers and take part in community events.
The concluding programme was organised by the Prabhandak Committee of Gurdwara Sahib Secunderabad. Devotees assembled in large numbers and offered prayers to the Sri Guru Granth Sahib. The event marked the birth anniversary of the tenth Sikh Guru, who founded the Khalsa Panth and preached peace, courage, and communal harmony.
Meanwhile, the main attraction of the celebrations was the ‘Vishaal Diwan’, a mass congregation held at Tivoli Gardens. The event drew hundreds of Sikh devotees. In addition, people from other communities also participated, reflecting the inclusive spirit of the occasion.
According to Prabhandak Committee office-bearers, the congregation began at 10.30 am and continued until 3.30 pm. During this period, the programme featured Gurbani kirtans and kathas. Notably, renowned ragi jathas from different parts of the country performed during the event.

Prominent ragi jathas, including Bhai Sarabjit Singh of Patna Sahib, Singh Sahib Giani Jaswinder Singh, former Head Granthi of Darbar Sahib, Giani Jagdev Singh, and Bhai Varjinder Singh, rendered shabad kirtans. Through their discourses, they highlighted higher moral values, national integration, and communal harmony upheld by the Sikh Gurus.
Furthermore, speakers recalled how Guru Gobind Singh Devji stood for justice and protected the weak and oppressed. They urged devotees to follow his teachings, stressing their relevance even today.
Finally, after the congregation concluded, organisers served the traditional Guru-ka-Langar to all devotees. Participants sat together and shared the community meal. This act once again reinforced the values of equality, fraternity, and collective responsibility.
