Hyderabad: The Telangana government issued orders revising engineering college fees Telangana for 160 colleges, allowing 33 institutions to charge more than ₹1 lakh in tuition for the 2025–28 block period.
The State Education Department issued GO No. 6 confirming the revised engineering college fees Telangana on Thursday. The new fee structure will apply to the block period covering the academic years 2025–26 to 2027–28.
According to the order, 33 engineering colleges in the State received permission to charge tuition fees exceeding ₹1 lakh per year.
In addition, two engineering colleges were allowed to fix their annual fee at exactly ₹1 lakh.
Officials noted that the number of colleges charging more than ₹1 lakh remained unchanged from the previous block period.
However, the number of colleges with exactly ₹1 lakh fee dropped significantly. Earlier, seven colleges had fixed the fee at ₹1 lakh. Now only two institutions fall in that category.
Engineering college fees Telangana revised for 2025–28 block
Among all institutions, Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology recorded the highest engineering college fees Telangana, with the annual tuition fixed at ₹1.83 lakh.
Vasavi College of Engineering ranked second with an approved fee of ₹1.75 lakh per year.
The Telangana Admissions and Fees Regulatory Committee recommended several changes before the government issued the final order.
The committee advised reducing the existing tuition fees for 19 engineering colleges. It also recommended that fees should not increase even by a single rupee in 70 colleges.
Meanwhile, the minimum engineering college fees Telangana was fixed at ₹45,000. A total of 21 engineering colleges fall under this lowest fee category.
Officials said the revised fee structure would come into force from the current academic year 2025–26.
The new fees will apply to students joining B.Tech first year during the academic years 2025–26, 2026–27 and 2027–28.
Students admitted during this block period must pay the same tuition fee throughout their four-year course.
Authorities said the fixed engineering college fees Telangana would remain unchanged for each batch during their entire duration of study.
