2BHK house beneficiaries must occupy homes or face cancellation

Hyderabad: 2BHK house beneficiaries must occupy their allotted homes by March 31 or face cancellation, Rangareddy District Collector C. Narayana Reddy directed officials. He said authorities would reallocate houses if beneficiaries fail to move in within the deadline.

The Collector issued the instructions during a video conference with housing officials, RDOs, tahsildars, Mission Bhagiratha and electricity department officials on Wednesday. He reviewed progress on allotment and occupancy of double-bedroom houses across the district.

He directed officials to ensure that beneficiaries reside in the houses already allotted to them. At the same time, authorities must complete allocation of houses that are ready or nearing completion.

2BHK house beneficiaries selection to finish by deadline

C. Narayana Reddy instructed officials to complete beneficiary selection by March 31. He said RDOs and Deputy Commissioners must identify eligible poor families from the L2 list through Indiramma committees.

Officials will place the selected list before the district minister for approval. Subsequently, a gazetted officer will verify and finalise the allotments. Therefore, he stressed strict adherence to the selection process.

He warned that beneficiaries who fail to occupy their houses must submit written explanations if they face issues. Otherwise, authorities will cancel the allotments in the first week of April and assign the houses to new beneficiaries.

2BHK house beneficiaries linked to infrastructure readiness

The Collector directed officials to ensure basic infrastructure in all housing colonies. These include electricity supply, drinking water and sanitation facilities. Accordingly, he asked electricity, HMWS and Mission Bhagiratha officials to complete pending works.

He also instructed officials to identify land parcels exceeding one acre if L2 lists remain pending. They must send proposals for sanction of additional housing units.

Further, he said authorities will auction shops located in 2BHK housing colonies. The revenue generated will be used for development of the colonies.

C. Narayana Reddy warned officials against negligence and urged coordinated efforts to meet targets within the deadline. He emphasised accountability and timely execution of all tasks.

Additional Collector (Local Bodies) K. Srinivas, Housing Project Director D. Champla Naik, RDOs Ananth Reddy, Jagadeeshwar Reddy, Venkat Reddy, Saritha and Parthasimh Reddy, along with other officials, attended the meeting.
