Hyderabad: As many as 13 flights were cancelled at the Shamshabad international airport on Tuesday after bad weather disrupted flight operations in Delhi, airline officials said.
Airlines took the decision due to poor weather in the national capital. The disruption affected both flights leaving Hyderabad and those arriving from Delhi.
Seven flights scheduled to fly from Shamshabad to Delhi did not operate. IndiGo cancelled five of these flights, while Air India cancelled two.
Shamshabad airport flight cancellations hit passengers
Six flights scheduled to arrive from Delhi to Shamshabad also did not operate. IndiGo cancelled five inbound flights, while Air India cancelled one.
The sudden cancellations caused trouble for passengers at the airport. Many travellers approached airline staff and requested alternate travel options.
Airline officials said they were helping affected passengers as per rules. They also asked travellers to check flight updates before reaching the airport.
