Hyderabad: Seethakka announces sanction of five new observation homes across Telangana to strengthen juvenile rehabilitation facilities. She made the announcement during a visit to the Saidabad Observation Home in Hyderabad on Thursday.
The Panchayat Raj Minister interacted with children at the facility, reviewed existing services, and assured them of continued support. She said the state government had also allocated Rs 25 crore for an additional home to improve care and infrastructure.
Seethakka told the children that observation homes should not be seen as punishment but as a second chance. “You may have made mistakes, knowingly or unknowingly. What matters now is to move forward and become responsible citizens,” she said.

As part of the visit, the Minister inaugurated a new library at the Saidabad home. The initiative came from Akarshana, a ninth-grade student at Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet. In recognition of her efforts, Seethakka honoured her with a shawl.
The library houses 700 books aimed at encouraging learning and self-improvement. Seethakka urged the children to immerse themselves in reading and take this opportunity to transform their lives. “Don’t lose heart. Make the most of what you have and aim to rejoin society with pride,” she added.
