Hyderabad: Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge will address the “Samajika Nyaya Samara Bheri” public rally at LB Stadium on Sunday, as unauthorised anti-Congress banners appeared overnight in Hyderabad targeting the state administration.
Flexes carrying strong criticism against the Congress government were installed at several key junctions without official clearance. Images of the posters spread rapidly across social media platforms, triggering a fresh controversy hours ahead of the high-profile gathering.
The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee went ahead with final arrangements despite the disruption. The rally is being organised under the slogan “Jai Bapu, Jai Bhim, Jai Samvidhan” to push the party’s social justice agenda.
Kharge will be chief guest at the meeting, with more than 40,000 participants anticipated, according to party leaders. The turnout includes over 12,500 village-level Congress presidents, district and mandal functionaries, elected representatives, ministers, MPs, MLAs, MLCs, and corporation chairpersons.
The rally is seen as a significant show of strength for the Congress in Telangana, forming part of its wider outreach for social justice programmes.
