Hyderabad: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Thursday declared that the Congress would capture 100 Assembly seats and 15 Lok Sabha seats in the next general elections in Telangana. Addressing the Social Justice Samarabheri Sabha at LB Stadium, he urged party workers to build on the current momentum and make Telangana a model for the entire country.
Revanth said the Congress had demolished the Kalvakuntla family’s hold over Telangana politics and hoisted the tricolour in its place. He added that those who mocked Congress’s promises were proven wrong as the government implemented key welfare schemes and stabilised governance.
He cited completion of the caste census and steps to address BC community concerns as major achievements. Despite financial stress, he said, the government had delivered on its welfare guarantees.
“In 18 months, we have rolled out Rythu Bharosa, bonuses for small farmers, premium-quality free rice, and a farmer loan waiver,” Revanth said. He pointed to the ₹500 per quintal bonus for paddy farmers, contrasting it with the previous chief minister’s warnings not to cultivate paddy.
He claimed Telangana had emerged as the top rice-producing state and credited his administration for disbursing ₹9,000 crore in farmer assurance within nine days.
Issuing a challenge, he said he was ready to debate Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister Kishan Reddy, or KCR on who truly served farmers’ interests.
Revanth also defended naming the ₹5 meal scheme after Indiramma, dismissing critics as “idiots” and insisting that Indiramma symbolised the welfare of the poor.
He highlighted measures to empower women, including encouraging them to run buses in RTC, operate petrol pumps, and improve their economic status. “Our mission is to make one crore women millionaires,” he said, appealing to women to join self-help groups and achieve financial stability.
Revanth told the gathering that the government had filled 60,000 government job vacancies in its first year, and he challenged critics on these figures.
He claimed ₹3 lakh crore in investments had been secured over 18 months. As part of education reforms, the government would establish Young India Integrated Residential Schools in 100 Assembly constituencies with a ₹20,000 crore budget.
Plans were also laid out for Young India Skills University to train youth in emerging trades, and Young India Sports University to groom athletes for a gold medal at the 2030 Olympics.
