Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Saturday claimed that Telangana is delivering uninterrupted power supply based on demand something, he noted, that even the erstwhile unified Andhra Pradesh couldn’t achieve.
Speaking at a review meeting in IDOC after inaugurating development works in Kothagudem district with Minister T Nageshwar Rao and others, Bhatti Vikramarka said this year’s summer saw record-level electricity supply across the state. He noted that during the BRS regime, the state struggled to meet even 15,000 MW demand. But under the Congress government, Telangana met a peak demand of 17,162 MW in March without disruption a record, he said.
He credited the Congress with initiating several power plant projects during the undivided Andhra Pradesh era, which are now operational and contributing to Telangana’s grid.
Bhatti Vikramarka said the Revanth Reddy government is driving a planned development agenda for statewide growth. He highlighted progress in software, pharma, energy, health, and housing sectors, claiming Telangana leads nationally in welfare delivery.
Focusing on tribal welfare, he announced the upcoming launch of the Indira Suraksha Jalavikasam scheme aimed at protecting forest regions and ensuring dignified living for Adivasi communities. The government plans to allocate ₹12,500 crore for the scheme, with no financial burden on beneficiaries.
