Hyderabad: Madhapur DCP Dr Vinith warned spa and massage centre operators of strict action if they continue to violate operational norms. He issued the warning during a coordination meeting with centre owners held at the Commissionerate, also attended by the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit, Special Operations Team and Madhapur zone police.
DCP Vinith said surveillance had been tightened on centres suspected of sheltering illegal activities, and any attempt to tarnish the city’s reputation would be dealt with firmly. He made clear that sexual services at spa or massage establishments are completely banned under the law.
The centres must function only between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. and cannot be attached to residential premises. Only qualified physiotherapists, acupressure and occupational therapy professionals are allowed to be employed, the DCP said.
He instructed operators to maintain a complete employee register and to hire only persons aged 18 and above. CCTV cameras are mandatory, with footage storage for at least three months, he added.
Other officials present included Women and Child Safety Wing DCP Srujana, Madhapur SOT DCP Shobhan Kumar, Additional DCP Srinivas Reddy, ACP Satyanarayana, Miyapur ACP Srinivas and AHTU Inspector James Babu.
