Hyderabad: A delegation of Communist Party of India leaders on Saturday visited Sigachi Pharma industries at Pashamailaram to inspect the site of a recent fire accident and assess worker safety.
CPI state secretary and MLA Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao led the team, joined by CPI state secretariat member Eeti Narasimha, MLC and CPI state executive member Nellikanti Satyam, state executive member Manda Pawan, CPI Sangareddy district secretary Syed Jalaluddin, and state committee members Prakash Rao, Rehman, Mahamood, and Anand.
The leaders interacted with workers and local residents, seeking details of the accident and the extent of damage. They expressed concern over industrial safety standards and demanded stricter enforcement of regulations to protect labourers in high-risk chemical units.
The CPI team urged the government to ensure proper compensation and rehabilitation measures for affected workers and their families. They also pressed for a thorough investigation into the cause of the fire and accountability of management.
