Hyderabad: The suspense over the Telangana BJP leadership ended on Monday with the party’s central leadership finalising former MLC Ramchander Rao as the next state president.
Party sources said he has been directed to file nomination for the post.
Earlier, the name of MP Etala Rajender had been under consideration for the role, with many describing the final announcement as a formality.
However, the BJP high command decided to back Ramchander Rao over other contenders.
The move is being seen as a significant organisational shift within the Telangana BJP unit.
