Hyderabad, February 4: A major road accident occurred near Budhanam Toll Plaza in Chittoor district, Andhra Pradesh, on Tuesday evening. A private travels bus from Tirupati collided with an RTC bus carrying passengers.
At least 15 people sustained serious injuries, while several others suffered minor wounds. Upon receiving information, police and emergency services rushed to the spot and transported the injured to Gudur hospital. Some critically injured passengers were later shifted to SVIMS Hospital in Tirupati for advanced treatment.
Preliminary investigations suggest that overspeeding by the private bus driver was the primary cause of the accident. The police have registered a case and are conducting further inquiries.
