HYDERABAD: Minister Jupally Krishna Rao has addressed allegations from opposition parties regarding land associated with Hyderabad Central University (HCU). Speaking to the media, he asserted that the government has not taken even an inch of land from HCU. He clarified that the 400 acres in Survey Number 25 at Kanche Gachibowli do not belong to HCU. The minister explained that this land was previously under the control of a private entity, and the government reclaimed it through legal proceedings.
Minister Rao highlighted that certain groups are attempting to create confusion among HCU students by spreading misinformation about the land’s ownership. He emphasized that the government has been actively restoring lakes in Hyderabad that were encroached upon for decades and questioned the necessity of taking HCU land when such restoration projects are underway. He accused the opposition of deliberately misleading students to incite unrest.
