Hyderabad: Telangana Police and the Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement (EAGLE) have frozen properties worth around ₹30 crore linked to six accused in a major Alprazolam trafficking case registered at Gummadidala Police Station in Sangareddy district.
The accused Girmagouni Sudheer, Bishweshwar Singh, Rajeshwar Sharma Joshi, Girmagouni Srivani, Bhavanigari Prabhu Vara Goud, and Gajjala Srishailam Goud were earlier arrested with 1,090 grams of Alprazolam. Police said they built a web of movable and immovable assets with illegal proceeds from the trade.
Authorities confirmed the properties were frozen on July 2 under Section 68(F) of the NDPS Act after approval by the competent authority in Chennai.
The seized assets include 46.18 acres of agricultural land, a chemical factory at Abdullapurmet, two villas in Hyderabad, four cars, and significant bank balances. Police estimates placed the book value of these assets at ₹6.1 crore, with market value closer to ₹30 crore.
Notable among the frozen assets were Stanchem Chemicals Factory worth over ₹7 crore, a Ford Endeavor worth ₹41 lakh, and villas in Primus Epsilon, Gundlapochampally, and Mahidhara Rock Garden, Chandanagar, worth over ₹1.3 crore combined.
The financial probe was led by Sangareddy district police with EAGLE under the supervision of SP Ch. Rupesh, IPS, with DSsP T. Shivannaidu, B. Pushpan Kumar, and a team of inspectors and station house officers.
