Hyderabad: Responding to rising demand, South Central Railway has increased the number of coaches in the Secunderabad–Visakhapatnam Vande Bharat Express (20707/20708). The change, effective from Saturday, July 6, raises the train’s AC Chair Car coaches from 14 to 18. The number of Executive Class coaches remains unchanged at two.
The high-speed train departs Secunderabad at 5:05 a.m. and reaches Visakhapatnam at 1:50 p.m. It returns at 2:30 p.m. and arrives back in Secunderabad by 11:00 p.m.
Vande Bharat Express services across India have been witnessing exceptional response, with tickets on most routes getting booked within minutes. The latest move is part of a broader effort by the Railway Ministry to enhance passenger convenience on high-demand sectors.
Separately, the Railway Board also announced an increase in the general coach count in several other trains. From September 5, the number of general bogies will be raised to four in the following services: Mumbai–Ballarshah (11001/11002), Mumbai–Chennai Central (22157/22158), Mysuru–Renigunta (22135/22136), and Kolhapur–Nagpur (11403/11404).
