Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi chief and former Telangana chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao on Friday discussed the state’s farm and irrigation concerns with party leaders from a private hospital in Somajiguda, where he is under treatment due to health complications.
BRS sources said several senior party leaders called on Rao at the hospital to enquire about his health. During the meeting, Rao held discussions on a range of issues, including the agricultural situation in the state, irrigation status, shortage of urea, and other public grievances.
Party insiders said BRS leaders also briefed Rao about the Telangana government’s stand on the illegal Bankacharla irrigation project being taken up by neighbouring Andhra Pradesh on the Godavari river. They highlighted severe fertiliser shortages and other public issues affecting farmers across districts.
Sources added that Rao collected feedback from the party leaders on the prevailing political conditions in Telangana and discussed the impact of state government policies.
Among those present were BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao, former minister Harish Rao, several party MLAs, ex-MLAs, and senior leaders.
Rao had been admitted to hospital on Thursday after a spike in his blood sugar levels. A team of specialists is monitoring his condition.
