HYDERABAD: A tragic Students Drug Overdose incident in Balapur, Telangana, has resulted in the death of a student and left two others in critical condition after reportedly consuming narcotic substances.
According to Balapur police, 17-year-old Mohammad Abdul Nasir, an intermediate student at MS College, regularly used intoxicating pills and injections along with his friends. They allegedly procured these substances from a man named Sahil, a resident of Shahin Nagar.
On 17 April, Nasir and his friends consumed the drugs together, after which all three lost consciousness. Nasir was immediately rushed to Osmania Hospital, where he died during treatment. The other two students were admitted to Owaisi Hospital and are reported to be in critical condition.
Police have confirmed that Nasir’s death was caused by a drug overdose and have launched an investigation. A case has been registered against Sahil, and authorities are probing the source of the drugs and the extent of his distribution network.
This incident underscores the growing concern over drug use among students and highlights the urgent need for preventive measures and strict enforcement to curb the menace.
