HYDERABAD: Mangalhat police have arrested three individuals involved in an illegal cricket betting racket operating in the Dhoolpet area.
The accused have been identified as Vicky Singh (28), Rakesh (39), and Sandeep (26), all residents of Dhoolpet. According to the police, the trio were running live IPL betting operations from Machilipura in Dhoolpet using line numbers sourced from a main bookie named Shailender based in Chennai.
Acting on a tip-off, the South East Task Force, in coordination with Mangalhat police, conducted a raid and apprehended the suspects while they were conducting betting operations.
Police seized ₹1,04,400 in cash, six mobile phones, and an LED television from the accused. Further investigation is underway to trace connections to other bookies and expand the probe into the larger network.
