HYDERABAD: On the last day of filing of nominations, BJP has announced senior leader Gautam Rao as its candidate for the upcoming MLC election under the Greater Hyderabad Local Authorities quota.
The Central Election Commission released the schedule for the election on 24 March. The current MLC, MS Prabhakar, will complete his term on 1 May. Polling will be held on 23 April, and the results will be declared on 25 April.
With the schedule in place, the election code is now in effect in the constituency. Today is the last date for filing of nominations and scrutiny will be conducted by 7 April. Candidates can withdraw their nominations until 9 April.
Polling will take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on 23 April.
