HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, during a visit to Japan, stated that the government’s objective is to elevate the state to global development standards. Speaking at an event, he said that the Telangana Development Vision emphasises industrial growth, infrastructure expansion, and environmentally sustainable urban planning.
Revanth Reddy highlighted that Telangana has already made significant strides in the IT and pharmaceutical sectors. He announced that preparations are underway to establish a dry port in the state to facilitate integration with global trade networks.
The Chief Minister said that he had observed the riverfront development model along a river in Tokyo, calling it an impressive example of urban advancement. Inspired by this, he added, a similar project is being implemented in Hyderabad for the cleaning and development of the Musi River. However, he noted that some quarters are creating obstacles to the execution of this initiative.
Referring to the pollution crisis in Delhi, Revanth Reddy said that government institutions there have been forced to shut down due to environmental emergencies. He stressed the need for timely action in Hyderabad to avoid similar conditions.
He identified the Musi River clean-up, metro rail expansion, regional ring road, and radial road projects as crucial to the development of Telangana.
Appeal to NRIs to contribute to state’s growth
The Chief Minister also appealed to non-resident Telanganites to play an active role in the state’s progress. He said that the state government is committed to increasing investment, promoting industries, and creating employment opportunities for youth.
Revanth Reddy emphasised that if every individual contributes according to their capacity, Telangana will be capable of competing on the global stage. He added that the joy and pride derived from the state’s development is beyond words, and collective effort is the way forward.
