Hyderabad: Telangana’s skies aren’t clearing anytime soon. After nearly a week of steady rain, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has sounded the alarm again—more showers are on the way.
Sunday’s alert mapped out the immediate risk zones. Adilabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy and Mahabubnagar are all in the path of another round of heavy rain.
But the real weather punch is expected midweek. On Tuesday and Wednesday, strong gusts, clocking up to 40 km/h, are forecast to barrel through districts like Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Jangaon and Siddipet. The rain will arrive in bursts, but forecasters warn these won’t be gentle drizzles.
The outlook for Thursday is just as grim. A fresh belt of rain is expected to sweep into Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Nalgonda, Suryapet, and several of the same districts already facing down the earlier storms.
Officials are urging both residents and rural communities to stay alert. With weather patterns shifting fast, the risk of sudden downpours and hazardous winds remains high.
