HYDERABAD: Several parts of Telangana, including the capital Hyderabad, experienced moderate to heavy rainfall on Saturday evening, accompanied by thunder and gusty winds. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast continued rainfall across many districts on Sunday, prompting a yellow alert.
Rains were reported from multiple districts, including Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Ranga Reddy, Malkajgiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet, and various parts of Hyderabad.
For Sunday, the IMD has predicted rain with thunder and lightning in Ranga Reddy, Hyderabad, Medchal, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet, and Jogulamba Gadwal districts. These areas have been placed under a yellow alert, indicating the likelihood of adverse weather conditions.
In the past 24 hours, heavy rainfall has been reported from Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Siddipet, Jagtial, and adjoining districts. The highest recorded rainfall was in Bandlaguda, Hyderabad, which registered 8 cm.
Authorities have advised residents in affected areas to take precautions, especially during peak rainfall hours, and to stay updated through official weather bulletins.
