HYDERABAD: Telangana is currently experiencing contrasting weather conditions, with searing heat on one hand and thunderstorm activity on the other.
Daytime temperatures have soared across the state, leaving people reeling under intense heat. From the morning hours itself, the sun has been blazing relentlessly, resulting in sweltering conditions. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that maximum temperatures may rise by 2–3 degrees Celsius over the next three days.
Meanwhile, several districts across the state are witnessing rain accompanied by thunder, lightning, and gusty winds. The Hyderabad Meteorological Centre has warned that this pattern is expected to continue over the next three days.
On Friday, rains are likely in the districts of Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanumakonda, Jangaon, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Ranga Reddy, Hyderabad, Medchal–Malkajgiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, and Jogulamba Gadwal.
For Saturday, isolated rainfall is expected in Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanumakonda, Ranga Reddy, Hyderabad, Medchal–Malkajgiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, and Jogulamba Gadwal.
On Sunday, rains are likely in Ranga Reddy, Hyderabad, Medchal–Malkajgiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet, and Jogulamba Gadwal.
In light of the forecast, the IMD has issued a yellow alert for the affected districts, cautioning residents about possible thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds.
