Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau on Tuesday arrested a Sub-Inspector of police from Kalwakurthy station in Nagarkurnool district while he was accepting a bribe of ₹10,000 for issuing a station bail.
The officer, M Ramachanderji, was caught red-handed by ACB sleuths during the trap. The bribe was allegedly demanded from an individual in exchange for granting bail from the station. The amount was recovered from the officer’s possession.
Ramachanderji was produced before the ACB court in Nampally. Officials said further investigation is underway.
The ACB has urged citizens to report any bribe demands by public servants. Complaints can be lodged via the bureau’s toll-free number 1064, WhatsApp at 9440446106, or through their official website at acb.telangana.gov.in. Identities of complainants will be kept confidential.
