MP R. Krishnaiah Warns Telangana CM Over BC Reservations

Hyderabad, February 7: Rajya Sabha MP and BJP leader R Krishnaiah has issued a warning to Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, stating that if the government fails to implement a 42% reservation for Backward Classes (BCs), he will expose the Chief Minister’s record on BC issues.

Speaking at a press conference in Delhi on Friday, Krishnaiah accused Revanth Reddy of being anti-BC and alleged that the Congress government was attempting to suppress BCs by underreporting their population in the caste census. He claimed that under-representation in the survey would limit BCs’ opportunities in various sectors.

Krishnaiah criticised the Telangana government’s caste census, calling it flawed and politically motivated. He demanded legal validation for BC reservations and warned of intensified protests if the government did not comply. He also accused the Chief Minister of engaging in diversionary politics.

Previously, Revanth Reddy had announced a 42% reservation for BCs in local body elections, challenging BRS and BJP to follow suit.
