HYDERABAD: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heat alert for eight districts in Telangana, warning of rising temperatures. According to the latest forecast, temperatures are expected to exceed normal levels, reaching up to 36°C in Nizamabad, Medak, Bhadrachalam, Mahbubnagar, Ramagundam, and Adilabad. Similarly, Khammam and Hanamkonda are likely to experience temperatures around 35°C. The IMD has advised residents to take necessary precautions against the increasing heat.
Rising Temperatures Across Telangana
Typically, winter conditions in the state subside after Sankranti, with temperatures gradually increasing towards Maha Shivaratri. During this transition period, dry and hot winds prevail, causing trees to shed leaves and leading to dehydration among people traveling outdoors. Experts recommend staying hydrated, wearing light-coloured cotton clothing, and avoiding unnecessary outdoor exposure.
Early Onset of Summer Heat
Meteorologists predict that this year could witness higher-than-average summer temperatures, with heat levels already rising earlier than usual. Authorities have urged residents to take preventive measures to safeguard themselves from extreme weather conditions.
