HYDERABAD: In view of the intense heatwave conditions, the Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for three districts in Telangana—Adilabad, Karimnagar, and Nizamabad. The heatwave is expected to persist over the next three days, with temperatures in northern Telangana likely to exceed 44°C.
According to the department, the extreme heat could pose significant health risks. Authorities have advised people to avoid venturing outdoors during peak daytime hours, stay well-hydrated, and take adequate precautions against sun exposure.
In addition, an orange alert has been issued for several other districts, including Sangareddy, Vikarabad, Hyderabad, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, and Ranga Reddy, where high temperatures are also expected to prevail. Meteorologists have warned that night-time temperatures may remain elevated, further prolonging discomfort.
While isolated light showers have been forecast in a few regions, the overall trend suggests that heatwave conditions are likely to continue across the state. Citizens are urged to follow government advisories and prioritise their health during this period.
