Hyderabad, January 26: On Sunday, during the Republic Day celebrations at Parade Ground in Secunderabad, Governor Jishnu Dev Varma hoisted the national flag and delivered a significant address. He lauded the Telangana government’s commitment to welfare and cultural initiatives. The Governor announced that the song “Jayajayahe,” penned by Andeshri, has been declared the state anthem. He emphasised that agriculture has been transformed into the backbone of the state’s economy. Notably, within a short span after assuming office, the government has waived loans for over 2.5 million farmers.
The administration is providing ‘Rythu Bharosa’ to support farmers and plans to introduce ‘Indiramma Atmiya Bharosa’ for agricultural labourers. A bonus has been granted for fine variety rice, and during the 2024 monsoon season, the state achieved a production of 15.9 million tonnes of paddy. Additionally, free bus transportation has resulted in savings of Rs 4,500 crore for women. The ‘Gruhajyothi’ scheme is benefiting 5 million poor families. To empower the youth, the government is set to establish the Young India Skill University.
Governor Varma’s remarks underscore the government’s dedication to welfare and cultural preservation, reflecting its efforts to enhance the socio-economic fabric of Telangana.
