HYDERABAD: The Communist Party of India (CPI) has levelled serious allegations against former Vemulawada MLA Chennamaneni Ramesh, demanding that he return all government salaries and benefits he received while holding office. CPI National General Secretary Narayana accused Ramesh of deceiving both the judiciary and the central government.
According to Narayana, Ramesh contested elections, won, and drew government salaries despite allegedly not being an Indian citizen. He further claimed that Ramesh not only benefited from the MLA position but also leveraged the role for substantial financial gain through various business activities.
The CPI leader asserted that a foreign citizen has no right to hold public office or receive state remuneration. He alleged that Ramesh violated the Indian Constitution and exploited the system, and that rectifying this misuse is only possible if all received salaries and perks are returned to the state.
Narayana added that if necessary, the CPI would approach the courts to ensure legal action is taken and to send a strong message against individuals who obtain public positions through falsehoods.
He concluded by saying that justice must prevail in this case and that the public should be assured that no one is above the law, regardless of their political position.
