The counting of votes for two teacher and one graduate MLC constituencies in Telangana is set to begin today. The State Election Commissioner confirmed that all arrangements have been made.
HYDERABAD: The counting of votes for the two teacher and one graduate Member of Legislative Council (MLC) constituencies in Telangana, which went to polls on February 27, will take place today. Telangana’s Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Sudarshan Reddy confirmed that all necessary arrangements have been completed.
The counting process will be conducted at designated centers. For the Karimnagar-Adilabad-Nizamabad-Medak teacher and graduate constituencies, vote counting will be held at the Indoor Stadium in Karimnagar. Meanwhile, for the Nalgonda-Warangal-Khammam teacher constituency, the counting will take place at the Godowns Corporation in Nalgonda.
To ensure a smooth counting process, 22 tables have been arranged for counting graduate votes in Karimnagar, 14 tables for teacher votes in Karimnagar, and 25 tables for teacher votes in Nalgonda. The counting will begin at 8 AM, with each counting table assigned a supervisor and two assistants. The counting staff will work in three shifts, and the entire process will be monitored through webcasting. A mock counting session was conducted on Sunday, as confirmed by the CEO.
In addition to the counting process, the notification for MLC elections under the MLA quota in Telangana is set to be released today. Nomination filing will begin from Monday, with a deadline of March 10. The scrutiny of nominations will take place on March 11, while the last date for withdrawal is March 13.
Polling for the MLA quota MLC elections is scheduled for March 20, from 9 AM to 4 PM. The counting of votes will begin the same day at 5 PM.
